One month to go

Only one month to go before we meet Baby Johnsen. Eric and I have been busy with prenatal classes, nursing classes, list-writing, etc. Next week is the hospital orientation as well as the "car seat fitting station". We're also both very busy at work, trying to meet some (mostly arbitrary) deadlines before the baby arrives. Still, there's always time for friends - below is me at a farewell/welcome back/hi again lunch with my Stanford postdoc girlfriends.

Exploding Belly

All of a sudden in the last couple of weeks, my belly has popped out and people have stopped commenting on how small I am carrying... The baby has also taken to "jiggling" (for lack of a better word), it's weird and he does it all the time.

Preparing the nursery

This weekend, Eric and I converted our walk-in closet to a "baby annex". It actually came out way better than I expected it would and now that our clothes and shoes are out of the closet, the baby annex looks really huge! We still have a ways to go with decorating it (next step is to put up the glow-in-the-dark stars), but having the nursery more or less ready makes the baby's impending arrival all the more real.
