More Bath Time

Getting Kyle ready for bathtime is a lot of fun.

Kyle loves to be naked. He laughs and squeals when we carry him down the hall to the bath tub, so Eric always wants to do the honors. This rewarding job does come with its hazards however:

Kyle isn't really into bath toys yet. Or rather, I should say that Kyle's favorite bath toys are his feet:

Los Angeles

We drove down to LA for a few days last week. The trip included Christmas dinner with family friends and a lot of time spent catching up with friends in Southern California. Kyle also met a lot of kids over the course of the trip - Soren, Lilah, and Phoebe.

We went to the Griffith Park Observatory with Mandi, Danny, and Lilah. At 19 months, Lilah is amazing at posing for pictures - I didn't crop the first shot at all, she just walked right up to the camera with a huge smile.

We next drove out to Santa Monica to see Richard, Maribeth, and Phoebe (this 2-month-old LA girl has the "just chill out man" thing down like a pro).

This month's big advance is laughing...

Looking and Reaching

Kyle is getting a lot better at looking at things and at reaching for objects (especially my mouth). He's started to be a lot more interactive and even to enjoy toys.

He can even get his hand into his mouth now.

Thanksgiving

To celebrate Kyle's first Thanksgiving, we made turkey and all the fixings, and also set out to introduce Kyle to his first friend, Andy. Andy wore matching overalls to make a good impression, and Kyle definitely agreed that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Rolling rolling rolling

Kyle has found a new way to weasel his way out of "tummy time"...

...before it was belly flopping, but now it's rolling:

Santa Barbara

The weekend after Thanksgiving was a great occasion for Kyle's first road trip, so we took him to Santa Barbara with the help of Ba Noi Huong and Tante Isabelle.

Eric decided to introduce Kyle to the ocean by unzipping Kyle's pajamas and dipping in his feet:

Kyle wasn't thrilled about this idea:

I love this next one because Kyle looks like a total thug:
