Venice Beach with Clara

On the first morning of our Thanksgiving California trip, Eric, Kyle, Stuart and I headed out to Venice Beach to meet up with Jen, Christian, and their daughter Clara. Kyle was quite taken by Clara:

He also really enjoyed getting reacquainted with the beach, where he ran away from the water, watched surfers and dolphins, and chased seagulls.

The nerf football figured heavily into our trip as well.

The Play-by-Play

The best $10 I've spent this year was on a really cheesy plastic shopping cart filled with even cheesier play food (mostly boxes labeled "cereal","mac and cheese",etc.) at Target. Kyle loves it and I love watching him pretend.

Here he is narrating as he reenacts making cereal:

Big Boy Bed

Kyle was getting a little big for his crib.

We bought him a crazy bedroom set, including a full-over-full (yes, that means two full beds) bunk-bed. This is from the catalog:

Don't worry, we've hidden the ladder in his closet and told Kyle that the top bunk is only for "bigger kids like Rebecka" (who is 5).

Now Kyle looks so small...

Thanskgiving Feast

A couple days before Thanksgiving, the teachers put together a Thanksgiving feast for the kids.

Pajama party on the day before Thanksgiving (I took Kyle straight to the airport from there, so he flew to LA in his PJs).

Make Belief

Kyle loves to play pretend these days, especially with the kitchen that Grandma and Grandpa sent him, and the shopping cart that we picked up to go with up.

Vegetable Soup

Another class email from Kyle's daycare - the class has been working on learning the alphabet, and last Thursday this was done with vegetable soup...
